Father of NSG commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan says he has not even been given a post mortem report

It's been four months since Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan died a hero while fighting terrorists at the Taj Mahal

Hotel. Yet, his father has still not received details of how the NSG commando died nor the post mortem report.

It was through the media that Unnikrishnan came to know that his son had died after a bullet pierced his neck. He said he wants to know how the operation of the 51 SAG, which his son was a part of, took place.u00a0

Unnikrishnan also wants the NSG to provide him with photographs of the weapon used by Sandeep and the terrorists in the operation. Unnikrishnan lamented that he had approached senior NSG officers on this more than 20 times. But the appeals fell on deaf ears, said retired Commander Satyanarana H, an officer present at the function.

Emotional reasons
"The father has not asked anything related to national security. These are basic things, which can be easily made available by the government," said a retired Rear Admiral. Unnikrishnan said his reasons for asking for the photographs are purely sentimental.
