'Shiney said he'd kill me if I shouted'

I stay with relatives at Virar. Rekha maushi got me the job at actor Shiney Ahuja's place. I would have to look after his kitchen. I started working for Ahuja on May 7.

VICTIM: The maid, who has accused actor Shiney Ahuja of rape.

There were two other maids Sangeeta, a full-time maid, and Harsha. Ahuja's wife Anupama and their daughter stay in the house along with him.

I worked for the family from 9 am to 5 pm. Mohan is the cook.

Some eight days back, Ahuja's wife and daughter went to Delhi and since then Ahuja was alone at home. He had no work for four days and was at home.

The day before

On June 13 at 10.30 am, Sangeeta told me she was going to the church and Shiney and I were alone at home.

At noon, I climbed on the washbasin near the toilet to open the water tank's tap. Suddenly, Shiney grabbed my legs.

I told him, "Mujhe haath mat lagao. Main apne aap chadh sakti hoon. Mujhe achchha nahin lagta." Later he left me.

The next day

The next day, on June 14, I came to work at 9 am. I told Rekha maushi that I was not feeling well and would leave early. She told me to inform her when I left, so we could go home to Virar together.

In the afternoon, Sangeeta went to church. Shiney and I were alone at home, as the cook completes his work and leaves in the morning. I did not leave early.

At 3 pm, I was working in the kitchen and Shiney was sorting cassettes and CDs in the rack. Suddenly, he called out to me.

I thought he must want water. I went to his bedroom. As I entered, he locked the bedroom door. He also shut the sliding windows. I asked him, "Darwaza kyon band kiya hai, bhaiyya."

'Sit here'

He said, "Idhar baith," pointing to the bed. He caught hold of my hand and forced me to sit and then lie on the bed. Then he raped me. When I shouted, he said, "Zyada chillaegi toh maar daaloonga."

He told me he'd give me what I want, but if I shouted, he would kill me. He then locked me in the bedroom
till 5 pm, after which I went to the kitchen. I was in shock and crying.

Suddenly the bell rang. I opened the door and it was Rekha maushi.

I climbed down the stairs with her and I told her about the incident. She made me feel better and took me where she worked at Adarsh Gupta and Sanjeet Kaur's place. I narrated the incident to them.

They later told me that we must file a complaint at Oshiwara police station. So, I went to the police station and filed a complaint against Ahuja for raping, threatening and locking me.

3 days in custody

The Oshiwara police yesterday asked the court to remand the actor to 14 days in custody. They feared that if he's out, he could threaten the victim.

The police mentioned that the accused was an actor and could use his influence to get himself out of the case.

The police, in their remand copy, explained that they needed to complete investigation and interrogate the accused for more time.

Hence, they wanted the accused in custody. The police also claimed that they had to conduct forensic tests at the scene of the alleged crime.

The court granted the police Ahuja's custody for three days.
