Mahesh Shetty and Vishal Bayolla are happy after two men who had robbed them last year are caught

Mahesh Shetty (33) and Vishal Bayolla (24) would rather not remember the day they were robbed because of their stupidity, but now are glad that Kiran Shah (32) and Naved Khan (22) of the Bol Bachchan gang were arrested on Tuesday.

A year ago, Shetty and Bayolla, senior executives with a firm in Lower Parel, were stopped by two robbersu00a0 who accused them of eve teasing. Even as they pleaded innocence, they were told to accompany them to meet and apologise to Salimbhai, whose pregnant wife was the 'victim'.

When they refused, according to Bayolla, the men took them to an isolated area and asked them to hand over their mobile phones, gold rings and chains stating that they would confirm their description with Salimbhai's wife. However, the robbers didn't return with the valuables after entering a bylane.

Bayolla told MiD DAY, "We were sure this was a case of mistaken identity and since it was a matter pertaining to a woman, we did not want a brawl and decided to apologise instead. We had no reason to believe that they were lying, it was only when they did not return with our valuables that we realised we were duped and lodged a police complaint."

Investigating officer Assistant Inspector Deepak Chauhan of the N M Joshi Marg police station said Shah and Khan were arrested from Mankhurd and stolen valuables were recovered from them.
