Three women and two children were killed while 15 others were injured when a dumper fell into a river early this morning here.
The victims hailing from Bodgaon village in Manor town in the district were returning home after attending a marriage ceremony in Virar, Thane district rural police said.
The driver apparently lost control over the dumper, causing the speeding vehicle to fall into the Vadri river from a bridge, police said.
Three of the injured, who are said to be critical, have been shifted to a hospital in Borivali.
