The decomposed body of a 73-year-old woman was found at her Charkop residence last night.
The woman, identified as Surekha Narvekar, lived alone in a one-room house.

Musa Shaikh, assistant commissioner of police, Charkop, said, "We received complaints from the neighbours about a foul smell emitting from Narvekar's house. When we broke in, we found her dead body."
When the neighbours rang her door bell and did not receive any response, they also called her son Mahesh, who lives in Kandivli (E).
The police is yet to ascertain the motive behind the brutal murder.
