This Shiva temple is one of five temples along Siri Road. Rakesh Joshi, Pujari of the Hanuman temple along the road says, “The purity of the place will be affected if a road is built here. The green cover has become sparse. More trees being cut will be awful.”

Malabar Hill resident Prakash Munshi says, “The trees are the oxygen cylinders of the city. This green space needs to be preserved and residents will do all they can to save the 70-plus trees that will be cut to make the road.”
The entrance of Siri Road where Jahangir Shaikh’s family has sold flowers for more than 100 years. He says, “Where will I go? My father, his father and all before me all made flowers to adorn the deities in the temples that are along this road.”
