The race for the Malabar Hill ticket for the upcoming Assembly elections is heating up in the BJP camp.

Three-time sitting MLA Mangalprabhat Lodha and BJP spokesperson Shaina NC are both contenders for the constituency.

BJP city chief Gopal Shetty said, "Nothing has been finalised on the ticket distribution and the Election Committee will take the decision, as there are many contenders," said Shetty.

Shaina had contested the Assembly election in 2004 from Bandra and lost to Baba Siddique of the Congress. She has, however, remained in the news for her social work.

Shaina said, "I have left the decision to the party high command. I'm the party's soldier and will support its decision." Lodha refused to comment on the issue.
