In a world where people do not even care about their neighbours, Manoj Pavihar, a businessman from Pydhonie, saved the life of a kite.
On Monday afternoon, Pavihar found the kite bleeding outside his shop and tried contacting the helpline numbers for injured animals, in vain.

"Luckily, the Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA) in Parel asked me to get the bird to their hospital," said Pavihar.
There, vets found that a manja had cut the kite's wing so deeply that the kite almost lost its wing.
The case is not an isolated one, said Lt Col J C Khanna, secretary, BSPCA.u00a0 "This year, our doctors treated nearly 200 birds, almost double compared to last year.
Our city has been transformed into a concrete jungle and thus, when the birds fly at a lower level, they get entangled either in manja, or in high-tension electricity wires."
