"The three were travelling with two bags in a taxi when they were apprehended by the police during a nakabandi," said DCP Zone 1 Vishwas Nagre Patil.

He added, "We found Rs 31 lakh in cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 3.49 lakh and other jewellery worth Rs 5.50 lakh in the bags."
Police and income tax officials are investigating the matter.
