Singer and ex-wife of noted director Shekhar Kapur, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi will meet the Labour minister Nawab Malik today in an attempt to clear her name.

Singer and ex-wife of noted director Shekhar Kapur, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi will meet the Labour minister Nawab Malik today in an attempt to clear her name.

Malik yesterday had levied allegations against Krishnamoorthi and other actors for employing children as housemaids.u00a0

"An accusation of this magnitude by the state government is something I take very seriously and negates and makes a mockery of all the hard work and energy I have put into the upliftment of the girl child in this country," said Krishnamoorthi in a statement before her meeting.

The incident comes to fore after a small time TV actress Urvashi Dhanorkar was arrested for allegedly abusing her 10 year old maid.
