A Mumbai international school impresses London school principals; like the idea of conducting meetings with teachers
A city-based international school has not only impressed local parents, but also school principals from the United Kingdom.

The Podar World School at Santacruz hosted 14 English principals for one week as part of an international leadership programme.
The visitors will make a presentation on their observations of Podar's teaching methods at a conference today.

Vandana Lulla, principal of the school, said, "All the principals were here for a week to explore, understand and learn the best practices of our school."
Agreed Rob Freeth, principal, Westminster CEP School, Bradford UK. "We are here to see, which methods really work. We will then take them back to our school," he said.
Best idea
So, which practice did they really like? Sue Flanagan, principal of Forest gate Community School, East London, said, "The idea I liked best was conducting regular meetings with the teachers to discuss the lessons, the content and the syllabus.

I was impressed with all the planning that goes into this. I want to implement that in my school."
According to Lulla, the conference will be an exchange of ideas, with the visiting principals also giving their inputs on what works in their schools.

Titled The Leadership of Change and Change Management in Schools, the conference, to be held at a city hotel, will be attended by representatives from other Mumbai schools and the education minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.
