Dewani murder case: Court grants bail to three

A special MCOCA court on Monday granted bail to three persons allegedly involved in the 2001 murder of Ajit Dewani, former secretary to actress Manisha Koirala.

Special MCOCA Judge RG Avachat granted bail to Nizamuddin Abdul Rauf, Ayub Patel and Akhilesh Singh who were allegedly part of the conspiracy to kill Dewani. Extradited gangster Abu Salem is also facing trial in the same case.

One of the accused, Upendra Singh, had allegedly barged into Dewani's office in suburban Andheri and shot him in 2001. The murder was allegedly carried out on the instructions of Salem due to Dewani's failure to pay the extortion amount.
