The city's most-talked about dandiya event Sankalp Dandiya famous for 'Dandiya Queen' Falguni Phatak's performance was called off yesterday.

Though rumour mills were abuzz that the event was cancelled as the stage on which the singer was to perform collapsed last evening, organisers denied it saying the cancellation was due to the untimely rainfall.

Devendra Joshi, organiser, Sankalp said, "The stage is intact, but we have stalled the dandiya event because of water logging at the Goregaon Sports Complex."






Around 15,000 revellersu00a0 were turned back yesterday. Sonal Vora (21), who travelled to Goregaon from Mulund to attend Falguni's show said,u00a0 "It was my first time at Sankalp, so I was all dressed up."

Meanwhile, other dandiya events in the city like Rangeelo Raas Dandiya atu00a0 Chitrakoot Grounds, whose main attraction is the duo Preeti-Pinky, and Kora Kendra in Borivli were in full swing.
