The blast took place around 8 in the morning and the resounding impact shattered glasses in the surrounding buildings, in the lane adjacent to the MTNL headquarters.
According to eyewitnesses, there was a pipeline leak in one of the flats in Abhijit Building that had been shut for two days. When the ownerodf the house, Suman Marathe (75) came back to the flat this morning and switched on the lights, the blast happened.
Marathe suffered 50 pc burnsu00a0and is admitted in Hindhuja hospital.
Theu00a0other injured, includingu00a0a couple in the adjoining flat and the building's watchman have been admitted to Hinduja hospital.
