Bollywood film producer Sajid Nadiadwala was on Friday robbed at gunpoint at his residence in north-west Mumbai by a security guard employed there, police said.

The security guard, identified as Prabhat Tripathi, was employed at Nadiadwala's suburban Versova residence for the last six months.

He fled with about Rs seven lakh in cash and jewellery worth about Rs 30 lakh after threatening the film producer and his wife with a revolver, police said.

At about 0300 hours, Tripathi allegedly knocked at the door of the producer's house and put a revolver to Nadiadwala's wife's head demanding he be given all valuables kept in the safe at the house, police said.

Tripathi took the valuables kept in the safe and after warning them not to inform police, fled, they said.

Police are on the lookout for the absconding guard.
