The Bombay High Court yesterday allowed a former Assistant Police Inspector, convicted in the fake stamp paper scam involving Abdul Karim Telgi, to visit Canada for five days to attend his son's convocation.

A division bench of Justices B R Gavai and Shalini Phansalkar Joshi allowed K K Parmar, who has been sentenced to five years in jail and is out on bail, to visit Canada but asked him to submit details of the travel programme.

The high court has restrained Parmar from visiting any other country and granted permission strictly for five days, including the time taken to travel to Canada and back.
