MSEB workers go on strike for salary hike

Power distribution in Mumbai is likely to get affected as more than 1 lakh employees of the distribution, transmission and generation arms of MSEB have gone on an indefinite strike on late Monday night.

Power distribution in Mumbai is likely to get affected as more than 1 lakh employees of the distribution, transmission and generation arms of MSEB have gone on an indefinite strike on late Monday night.

Their decision to go on strike came after the talks between the unions and theu00a0Maharashtra government over the demand for 60% hike in their salary did not yield any cordial solution.


One of the union leaders of the MSEB said, "The state offered a mere 22% hike in the salary in return for our demand of 60% hike. This is injustice and we have decided to protest by going on a strike."



Au00a0reliable spokesperson of MSEB said that,"Today on Tuesday, state minister has called us for a coordinal meeting to decide upon the hike in the salary. I think positive results are expected from this meeting."
