Maharashtra CM asks officers to prepare water plan for Godavari basin

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today directed concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive water plan for Godavari basin.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today directed concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive water plan for Godavari basin.

He chaired the second meeting of State Water Council at the state secretariat here.


Fadnavis directed the officers to prepare a comprehensive water plan for Godavari basin which needs to be submitted to him for approval in 3 months, an official in Chief Minister's Office said.



He also asked officials to frame a methodology for preparing future water plans for other basins for integration.

The Chief Minister stressed that Integrated State water plan should not be only compilation but should be integration too in true sense, the official said.

State Ministers Pankaja Munde, Girish Mahajan, Diwakar Raote, Babanrao Lonikar and senior officials were present for the meeting.
