Maharashtra IPS association condemns attacks on Delhi Police

The Maharashtra IPS association unanimously passed a resolution to stand in a solidarity with Delhi Police who were attacked by advocates. The decision was taken in a meeting lead by Subodh Jaiswal , DGP Maharashtra on Wednesday.


The resolution issued by Maharashtra Police states that the IPS association, Maharashtra, strongly condemns brutal attacks on police personnel by lawyers at different places in Delhi.


"The Association stands in solidarity with our brethren of Delhi Police and remains committed to support any action of the Central Indian Police Service Association (CIPSA) in approaching the appropriate forums for bringing perpetrators of crime to justice and for upholding the rule of law. The Association is of the firm belief that rule of law should prevail at all times and all are entitled to equitable justice without fear or favour. The Association also expresses its gratitude to one and all for their support to our colleagues in uniform."


The Delhi police personnel carried out a protest on Tuesday after two attacks on their colleagues, one on Monday and another on Saturday, after a parking dispute between an on-duty policemen and a lawyer.

The Delhi Police also registered two FIRs against a lawyer who was seen in the video hitting uniformed policeman on a motorcycle outside the Saket district court.
