An 18-year-old boy from Malad has gone missing after he went for a swim to Marve beach on Sunday evening.
He was not found until late Sunday night. According to assistant station officer Prashant Sapkal, of the Mumbai fire brigade, Ijaz Shaikh had gone to Marve beach with his cousin for a swim.
While swimming, he got swept away due to the high tide and was not to be seen. His cousin raised an alarm after which the fire brigade's beach rescue team and local police were summoned.
Search operations went on till late in the night. "We haven't found him yet. Search operations will continue on Monday," Sapkal said.
