The Pant Nagar Police Station in Ghatkopar East has taken Sunita Mohan Tupsoundarya, 45, in its custody, after a forgery case was filed against her.

The Sion Koliwada resident, who contested in the 2014 assembly elections from Airoli, had been arrested by the Khar police for a similar offence last week. On Friday, the Pant Nagar police station took her in custody.
According to the complainant and five people, Tupsoundarya and her partner Sunil Sathe, 32, falsely promised them Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) flats. Between June 2008 and January 2009, they took approximately Rs 19.7 lakh from them.
The Pant Nagar Police Station took custody of Tupsoundarya from the Khar police station on Friday, while Sathe is absconding.
