The Goregaon police have arrested a 28-year-old carpenter for flashing at a seven-year-old and her maid inside the elevator of a housing society on Wednesday night. The arrested accused is Shabbir Thakur Khan.

According to the police, the girl’s maid decided to take her to her grandparents’ eighth-floor home around 10.30 pm. She entered the lift with the child and Khan, who had been coming to the building for some furniture work, too got in.

“The girl’s father said that the accused first stared at the girl and then flashed at her. Both the girl and the maid were shocked and exited the elevator on the eighth floor. The scared girl ran to her grandmother and narrated the entire incident,” said an officer from the Goregaon police station.

The grandmother informed the girl’s mother about it, after which the girl’s family and other residents of the building started looking for Khan. Minutes later, he was caught and beaten up by residents before being handed over to the police.
