NRI arrested for raping babysitter

31-yr-old babysitter alleges NRI engineer raped her after spiking her drink in his Lokhandwala home, blackmailed her later by telling her he had shot a video

An NRI software engineer was arrested by the Oshiwara police yesterday for allegedly raping his babysitter.

According to the police, the 31-year-old woman approached the police officers on Friday alleging that her employer, Girish Satya, a resident of Lokhandwala in Andheri West had raped her 15 days ago.

Cops said that the woman did not have an answer as to why she waited for two weeks to lodge a complaint.
According to the victim, the accused blackmailed her after the alleged rape.

According to the complainant, she was raped on July 5, when she was at the residence of her employer to baby-sit his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, when his wife, who works at Bandra, was at her office.

The victim, mother of a 12-year-old boy, resides in Nalasopara, said she managed to flee the residence of the accused.

She told the police, "He used to offer me a cold drink often. On the day the incident occurred, I had the drink and fell unconscious. When I came to, I realised something terrible had happened to me.

My body was aching and I could not move. When I confronted my employer, he told me, 'I have raped you and have also shot a video. Your clothes are kept in the corner of the room.'"

She continued, "Then he started blackmailing me.

So I decided to tell his wife everything. But she told me if I open my mouth in front of anyone, she would take me to the police and file a robbery case against me. Later I approached an NGO to complain against him."

The accused on the other hand, claimed that there was an argument about increasing her salary, following which she left and lodged a case against him, cops said..

Dilip Rupawate, senior police inspector of Oshiwara police station, said yesterday, "Acting on the complaint, we have arrested the accused.

We will produce him in court tomorrow and verify the victim's statement."

According to police sources, the accused used to call the agency supplying domestic help every day and tell them to send a maid.

If they were not attractive, he'd send them back. He had rejected around 25 maids before finally choosing the victim, a source said.
