An accused in the theft case who was locked up in Nalasopara escaped by breaking the cement roof on the wee hours of Saturday.
Rizwan Raja-ul- Mustafa Manir (28), a resident of Thakur pada Dahisar east was arrested by Local Crime Branch on Friday evening in connection with a theft case of by the Waliv police. He was charged under section 379 and 34 of IPC lodged in year 2012.

On Friday, the LCB (local crime branch) Vasai division caught Rizwan from Dahisar and he was sent to lock-up for investigation but at around 5:30 am, he fled from the lock-up by breaking cement roof, a police official from Nallasopara police station said.
The morning duty official found Rizwaan missing and also saw the broken cement roof. He immediately informed the Nallasopara police station and registered a complaint.
A search has been launched to arrest the Rizwan, the official added.
