No mega blocks on Western Railway and Central Railway Main line

Mega blocks on the suburban railway have become a regular feature for many years now; but then after a very long time there wouldn’t be a mega block at least on the Western Railway (WR). The Central Railway (CR) too wouldn’t be carrying out mega block on their Main line.

“We are not implementing any mega block this Sunday but then the train services will operate as per Sunday timetable,” said R Bhakar, chief PRO, Western Railway. As per Sunday timetable there shall be 30 percent lesser train services operated unlike the daily 1306 services operated by them.

On the other hand, no maintenance work shall be carried out as part of the mega block but then the important job would be done between Shahad and Ambivali stations. The CR will operate a special traffic and power block for 3 hours for launching of 24-meter long girder and foot over bridge girder at Kalyan station from 10am to 1pm.

Due to this the train running will be affected during this block period wherein platforms 1, 1-A, 2, 3 and 4 at Kalyan will not be available. All Kalyan originating/terminating locals will be cancelled while Titwala, Asangaon and Kasara locals will be cancelled till this work is complete. All Ambarnath, Badlapur, Karjat and Khopoli locals will be running via platforms 5, 6 and 7 at Kalyan. The long distance trains for CST and Kurla LTT will arrive 25 minutes to 2.5 hours late.
