The father of the girl has alleged that Rahul (left) and Sonu sent offensive and lewd texts to him.

Both the accused and the victim are from Chandigarh.

According to the police, on January 21, at around 10.30 am, 19-year-old Rima (name changed), a resident of Ram Darbar, Phase II, went to school and did not return home.

After her disappearance, her father received an anonymous call saying that three persons, identified as Rahul Birender Kumar (23), his brother Amit (19), and Sonu alias Javed Shakeel Ahmed (19), had made a blue film of his daughter.

The father immediately informed Phase I police about the incident.

He alleged that the accused had made a blue film of his daughter and sent offensive and lewd text messages to him. The accused are believed to be her neighbours.

Following the complaint, the Chandigarh police arrested Amit under Sections 363, 366, 34 of the India Penal Code.

Not before long, they got a hint that the other two accused were present in Mumbai, after one of them used his ATM card in Jogeshwari area.

On Wednesday, the Chandigarh police then came to Mumbai and contacted Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijaysingh Jadhav.

Said ASI Balbir Singh of Phase I police station in Chandigarh, "We came to Mumbai on Wednesday and have given all the details to the police here.

We got the link from the bank whose ATM booth they had taken the money from in Jogeshwari area. We are going back to Chandigarh. If the accused are arrested, the Mumbai police will inform us," Singh said.

"The Chandigarh police have given us photographs and descriptions of the offenders and we have circulated them in all police stations in Mumbai," confirmed DCP Jadhav.
