"I will announce my next step on January 6. There is no question of being persuaded (to stay on in Congress)," Rane told reporters here.
Rane, who was expelled from Shiv Sena in 2005 and immediately joined Congress, was suspended when he flayed Congress leadership after being denied the chief ministerial chair.
Criticising MPCC president Manikrao Thakre, close to his detractor and former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Rane, who met his supporters today, said "those who cannot even get elected should not preach others."
Citing a CAG report tabled in state Legislature during winter session in Nagpur last month, Rane alleged that state exchequer has incurred losses because of some land allotment at 'throwaway prices' during the regime of previous Deshmukh government.
