Vikhroli police on Friday arrested Parksite colony resident Aatmaran Kenjale for murdering a burglar. On December 24, Arjun Gorkha, while attempting to enter Kenjale's house at 2 am, slipped and fell and was caught by the family. The local residents, instead of handing him over to the police, thrashed him as he had robbed several families in the colony and managed to get bail several times.
At 3 am, Amol Kenjale, along with Ramesh Nawale and Sagar Kumbhar tied Gorkha's hands, took him to the nearby Shiv Shankar Temple and beat him to death with rods. The temple priest found the body early in the morning and informed the police. Kenjale was arrested on Saturday. The rest are absconding.
