Pragya Singh Thakur, who was admitted to the J J Hospital late on Wednesday with dehydration and skin infection has recovered, doctors from JJ hospital told MiD DAY.

The Sadhvi, who was arrested in connection with the September 29, 2008, Malegaon blast that killed six persons, was put on an intravenous drip.

"The skin infection was cured as it was just a minor infection. She was weak as she was on hunger strike for 25 days because of which she is kept under observation," a doctor the hospital said.

Thakur who has been admitted in 11 number ward of JJ hospital is under constant vigil of 4 constables and 2 lady constables.

A special MCOCA court had asked the Byculla jail authorities to shift Thakur to hospital after her lawyer, Navin Chomal, filed an application saying her health was worsening.

Thakur had developed a skin infection in her right armpit. It later spread to her arm. Her condition worsened after she gave up solid foods on allegedly finding egg in boiled cabbage that she was served. On March 6, she gave up fruits as well, sticking to a liquid diet.

This was the second time in a month that Thakur was admitted to hospital because of the infection.
