While a pillion rider was killed in a hit-and-run case in Andheri, early this morning, another unidentified person lost his life after a speeding Honda City rammed into the auto in which he was travelling on the Borivili highway.
Amol Wayachal (22) was riding pillion with his colleague Sanjay Singh when a speeding car hit the bike near the MIDC central road at 1 am.

The duo was rushed to Dr R N Cooper Hospital. Way-achal was declared dead on admission, while Singh sustained injuries.

According to Singh, he was heading towards his Chandivli home when a white car suddenly took a U-turn and appeared right in front of his bike.

"I tried slowing down, but the car was speeding. It hit my bike and we both fell down. When I regained consciousness, I was being taken to the hospital in a rickshaw," he said.

API Rajani Salunke of MIDC police station said, "The vehicle that hit the bike sped away and the search is on. We have alerted all the police stations to look out for a white car with a dent on its right side."
