In what appears to be a yet another case of student suicide, a post-graduate student at Jaslok Hospital and Medical Research Institute died yesterday. The incident took place around 6.40 am, when Dr Divya M (26) was found in an unresponsive state at her hostel, by her classmates.

She was immediately taken to the emergency ward, where she was declared dead on arrival. Hospital authorities have informed the police and the family of the girl. Dr Tarang Gianchandani, medical superintendent of the hospital, said, “She was discovered by her classmates in an unresponsive state and later taken to the emergency ward, where on examination they found that she was brought dead and her body had already stiffened. We have intimated the police and family members and are extending all support and condolences to the family.”

According to police officers at Gamdevi police station, the girl was a resident of Hyderabad. Cops suspect she committed suicide. “She was associated with the anesthaesia department of the hospital and injected herself with a substance,” informed an officer.
