A fresh case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1998, was registered yesterday against unidentified accused. Earlier, the cops had filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter.

Renowned for executing top-notch projects at prime locations across Thane, Parmar shot himself in the head using his personal firearm on October 7. He took the drastic step inside the sample flat of an ongoing project in Kasarvadavli.

“He left behind an 18-page suicide note, in which he mentioned names of several Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) corporators and officials, who had demanded bribes from him,” an officer from Kasarvadavli police station said. Moreover, Parmar allegedly erased names of a few top politicos from his note stating that they might target his family after him.

In one of the pages, the builder even questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about how he was planning to fulfil his dream of a Digital India when corrupt officials were harassing builders by demanding bribes. Parmar stated that everything should be digitised to stop corruption. It has also been learnt that with sections under Prevention of Corruption Act mentioned in the FIR, the Anti-Corruption Bureau is likely to investigate the case.
