For the Sheikh brothers, no stake was too high to play. The chain-snatching duo, which has several other cases of robbery to its name, even bought a Toyota Innova (worth Rs 11 lakh) and a Bajaj Pulsar (worth Rs1 lakh) in October. But last Wednesday, their luck finally ran out.u00a0

The Nagpada police arrested Jasim Sheikh (33) with his associate Jivan Rawal (45), a toy stall owner at Musafir khana, Crawford market, for stealing Rs 25 lakh from businessman Jignesh Anish Shah.
They arrested Sheikh's older brother, Jasim on Thursday. On February 2, a police team found an Innova (MH01 AC 318) parked opposite Rolex hotel, and became suspicious of Sheikh and Rawal, who were sitting in the car. On searching the vehicle, they found Rs 10 lakh stashed under the driver's seat of the car.
They were then informed by the VP Road police of a Rs 25 lakh theft that had been registered barely four hours ago. When the Nagpada team, led by Inspector Sudhakar Kamble interrogated the duo, they admitted to their crime, but the remaining Rs 15 lakh has not yet been recovered. The trio was taken to Mazagaon court on Saturday and remanded to a day's custody.
