Preliminary investigation reports suggested that the victim was strangled to death with a rope. The body also bore at least four blade injury marks on the face, suggesting that she was assaulted before being strangled to death.
According to the complainant Mohammad Zekaria (56), lodge manager of the guesthouse, the victim and her companion came to stay in the lodge on March 30.
The couple registered themselves as Raju Wasim and Sabnam and also claimed to be siblings, added the manager.
