Yeh meri zindagi ke sabse mushkil paanch din the. That's what Shamshuddin Khan said when he took Zoya, his two-month-old daughter, who was the youngest ever applicant for anticipatory bail, in his arms at his Kurla home yesterday.
Khan was behind bars for five days and got bail yesterday from the Vikhroli lower court. He was arrested
after his ex-wife filed a dowry case against him, Zoya and seven family members, including a neighbour. MiD DAY had reported this story on June 21.

'We are divorced'
Khan claimed he had divorced his first wife two years back and had sent her a divorce letter through his community.

"In spite of this, she kept calling and abusing me and my family on phone. I had also registered a non-cognisable complaint against her on May 27," he said.
Anil Bhole, Khan's lawyer, still can't believe the incident. "I wonder how the police registered a dowry case against Khan and his family when he had already divorced his first wife two years ago.

baby had come to seek anticipatory bail."
