The Oshiwara police have registered an FIR against the driver of a BMC mini-compactor (garbage collection vehicle) for running over a food delivery agent. The Oshiwara police have registered an FIR against the driver of a BMC mini-compactor (garbage collection vehicle) for running over a food delivery agent in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to the police, Azeem Shaikh, 35, a resident of Ekta Nagar in Goregaon West, was on his way to deliver food in Oshiwara when the speeding garbage collection mini-truck hit him and ran him over. The incident occurred around 1 am. A local resident, Deepak Patel, 25, immediately informed the police. While the cops arrived at the scene, a crowd gathered. Shaikh was rushed to Cooper Hospital, where doctors declared him dead before admission.


A police officer said, “The driver, Prakash Yadav, 40, has been detained, and an FIR has been registered against him under Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving/riding) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Section 184 (dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act. He has been served notice, and an investigation is underway.”
