A fire broke out in a 14-storey residential building in Mumbai's Girgaon area on Saturday afternoon.

The fire was located in a duct on the 3rd floor of a 14-storey building, emitting dense smoke within the building. According to the officials, the occupants promptly evacuated the premises before the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) arrived at the site.
According to the BMC official, the incident was reported on September 30, 2023 around 2:25 pm. The incident was reported by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)'s Mumbai Fire Brigade.
According to the official, the incident occured at Ganesh Krupa CHS, near Dr Deshmukh Lane, Girgaon.
The fire was found to be confined to the electric wiring and installations within the electric duct on the first floor of the building.
The MFB firefighters took control of the situation. The firefighters cut off the electric supply to mitigate any further escalation of the fire.
As per official details, a total of 27 persons - including 17 females, 5 males, and 5 children, were successfully rescued from various floors using the building's staircase and terrace. The fire brigade utilised the terrace door to facilitate the rescue operation.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
