Aurangabad Railway Station in Maharashtra now renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The Aurangabad Railway Station in Maharashtra has been officially renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station, the Central Railway announced on Saturday.

According to a press release, the competent authority has approved the change of name for Aurangabad Railway Station, which falls under the Nanded Division of the South Central Railway. The new station code will be CPSN.

The Central Railway stated that all official references, signage, and announcements will now use the name Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station. Passengers and the general public have been requested to take note of the change.

The renaming honours Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and follows the government’s approval of the city’s new name earlier.
