The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and its Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who is probing the Aryan Khan drug case, have moved Mumbai Sessions Court seeking directions to prevent attempts to create hurdles and scuttle the ongoing investigation, as per a report in Bar and Bench.

The NCB has asked the court that there should be no tampering with the evidence or investigation.

Wankhede's counsel told the court on Monday that personal allegations are being made against him and his family.

"Why are there allegations against my family members? Is it because of my supervisory position? Is it only to divert me and make me fail in court. My family including my sister and deceased mother are being targeted," he asked.

Wankehde prayed that nobody should be allowed to influence the witnesses and the investigation.

"I am open for any kind of investigation or inquiry. I have 15 years of record. But such allegations only to target my personal life and work is not done," he said.

Nawab Malik has shared the birth certificate of Wankhede on Twitter saying "Sameer Dawood Wankhede's fraud started from here."

Following this Wankhede said he will fight Malik legally.

"I have come to know about a fresh tweet by Nawab Malik about my birth certificate. This is an ugly attempt to bring in all the things which are not connected to all this. My mother was a Muslim so does he want to bring my dead mother in all this? To verify my caste and background, anyone can go to my native place and verify my lineage from my great grandfather. But he should not spread this filth like this. I will fight all this legally and don't want to comment much on it outside court," Wankhede told ANI.

On Sunday, a 40-year-old Andheri resident, Prabhakar Sail, claimed that Rs 25 crore was demanded by an NCB official and other persons to let off Aryan Khan in the case.

Sail told media persons that he feared a threat to his life and had claimed he could be harmed.
