A fire broke out in the electric server panel of a mobile tower in Maharashtra's Thane city on Friday morning, a civic official said, reported news agency PTI.
The incident occurred on Indira Pada Hill in the Ghodbunder Road area around 10.25 am, the official said, reported PTI.
Firefighters, along with a rescue team, disaster management personnel, and employees from the company and electricity department, rushed to the site, and the blaze was brought under control in an hour.
"The fire has been completely extinguished, and no one was injured at the scene," said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell, reported PTI.
Fire breaks out in meter room of Thane building, doused; no one hurt
In another incident, a fire broke out in the meter box room on the ground floor of a building in Savarkar Nagar in Thane West on Thursday morning, an official said, reported PTI.
The blaze at Sai Sudarshan Society in MHADA Colony damaged 10 meter boxes, he added.
"The fire broke around 10am and was doused half an hour later. Ten meter boxes were damaged, but there were no casualties or structural damage to the building," said Yasin Tadvi, Chief of Disaster Management Cell, Thane Municipal Corporation, reported PTI.
Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit in the meter box area could have triggered the fire, though the exact cause is under investigation, he added.
Fire breaks out in storeroom of Thane district court building; no injuries
Meanwhile, a fire broke out in the storeroom of the extended building of the Thane district and sessions court on Tuesday morning, but no injuries were reported in the blaze, civic officials said, reported PTI.
The incident was reported to the Thane Municipal Corporation's (TMC) Disaster Management Cell (DMC) at 11:19 am, following which immediate response teams were dispatched to the site at Court Naka in Thane (West), a civic official said, reported PTI.
According to information received from the Jawaharbagh Fire Station, the blaze, suspected to have resulted from an electrical short circuit, originated in the storeroom on the first floor of the two-storey extended court building.
Preliminary reports indicated old documents and electrical wiring in the room caught fire, leading to dense smoke within the premises.
Firefighters assisted by DMC personnel, police, and officials from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (Mahavitaran) promptly reached the spot. Two fire engines, one rescue vehicle, and a pickup vehicle were deployed to control the blaze, said the official.
After a swift and coordinated operation, the fire was completely extinguished in just 20 minutes and no injuries were reported, DMC chief Yasin Tadvi said, reported PTI.
Normal court operations resumed shortly after the situation was brought under control, he added.
