An eye-witness told mid-day that the fishing trawler is huge and it was anchored at Panchu Bandar near Vasai Fort as the activity inside sea is restricted due to the pandemic.

"But due to high tide, the fishing trawler got swept into the sea and reached Merces area at Rangaon village in Vasai. The price of fishing trawler is approx Rs. 50 lakh," the eye-witness told mid-day requesting anonymity.

"The owner of fishing trawler was informed and he immediately deployed a backhoe machine to pull it out. Though the boat was successfully recovered but the backhoe machine got submerged due to high tide. Its operator managed to come out unhurt," the witness added.

"The owner of the submerged backhoe machine is waiting for low tide to retrieve it. Hopefully it will be pulled out by evening. No concerned authority has been informed," he said.
