The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched an innovative travel initiative called the Multiple Origin, Single Destination (MOSD) tour model, officials said on Thursday.

The new system allows travellers from different parts of India to join the same international tour by coordinating departures through IRCTC’s regional offices.

Under the MOSD model, IRCTC has announced two major international tour packages.

"The first is a Dubai tour departing on January 22, 2026 from Mumbai, covering Dubai and Abu Dhabi over five days. The second is a long-duration Europe tour planned for April and June 2026, covering major cities including Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Zurich, Innsbruck, Venice, Florence, Rome and Milan over 13 days. Around 100-200 passengers from various regions are expected to take part in these coordinated trips," an official statement said.

It said that the IRCTC has also introduced Early Bird Discounts of Rs 5,000-Rs 6,000 on upcoming international tours. These include the Cherry Blossom Japan Tour departing on March 29, 2026 and the Astonishing Australia Tour departing on May 5, 2026. To avail the discount, travellers must book by 17 December 2025 and pay 30 per cent of the package price upfront.

For the festive season, IRCTC has rolled out special Christmas and New Year holiday packages. Domestic destinations include Kerala, Andaman, South India, Odisha, Rann of Kutch, Ayodhya, Varanasi and Saurashtra, while international packages include Nepal and Sri Lanka. Each package comes with flights, accommodation, meals, transfers, sightseeing, a tour manager, travel insurance and GST, the statement further said.

Gaurav Jha, Group General Manager of IRCTC West Zone said, "The curated packages aim to provide travellers with comfort, convenience and memorable holiday experiences."

Bookings can be made through IRCTC’s official channels, including WhatsApp, SMS and authorised agents across India, officials said.
