Maharashtra Minister Bawankule announced deadline extension of 'E-Peek Pahani'
In a move aimed at ensuring wider participation among farmers, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday announced an extension of the deadline for the ‘E-Peek Pahani’. The E-Peek Pahani is an electronic crop inspection process. The deadline, as per the official statement, has been extended till March 31, 2026, for the 2025-26 Rabi season.
The announcement was made in the state legislative assembly, where Bawankule highlighted that only 55.69 per cent of crop registrations have been completed so far, leaving nearly 45 per cent of farmers yet to be covered under the initiative.
Bawankule, while addressing the legislative assembly, said, “The registration process at the assistant level began on January 25, 2026. However, a significant number of farmers are still outside the system. To achieve 100 per cent coverage, the government has decided to extend the deadline.”
What is E-Peek Pahani?
E-Peek Pahani is a scheme that allows farmers to directly register their crop data, reducing reliance on manual processes and minimising errors.
The collected data is used for various government initiatives, including crop insurance claims, compensation for losses, and other agricultural schemes.
The E-Peek Pahani system plays a crucial role in enabling farmers to avail themselves of various government benefits, particularly crop insurance schemes. Officials have emphasised that timely and accurate crop data submission is essential for seamless disbursal of such benefits.
Maharashtra Minister Bawankule also informed the legislative assembly that directives have been issued to expedite the implementation of the ‘Agri Stack’ initiative.

According to the official statement, instructions have been sent to the Commissioner of Land Records and the Commissioner of Agriculture to coordinate closely and ensure the swift completion of data registration.
Bawankule further stressed that special focus will be placed on ensuring that crop inspection verification is carried out efficiently and within stipulated timelines, thereby strengthening the transparency and reliability of agricultural data systems in the state.
The extension is expected to provide relief to thousands of farmers who were unable to complete their registrations within the earlier deadline while also helping the government move closer to comprehensive digital coverage of agricultural data.
