India Post, in partnership with the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL), has inaugurated a new India Post Service Desk and a set of art installations at the CSMT Aqua Metro Line.

The event took place on Friday at the CSMT Metro Station, near Entry/Exit Gates A2 and A3. The initiative to improve commuter convenience and increase public access to citizen-focused postal services within the metro network, an official statement said.

The inauguration was led by Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General of the Maharashtra  and Goa Circle, along with Kaiya Arora, Director of Postal Services for the Mumbai Region. Senior officials from India Post and MMRCL were also present, it said.

The newly installed artworks highlight the wide range of India Post’s products and services.

Designed to be both attractive and informative, the displays give commuters a visual experience of the postal department’s heritage and modern services.

A dedicated service desk has also been opened at the station. It includes-

- An extension counter offering philatelic merchandise such as augmented reality (AR) postcards, philately-themed coasters, water bottles and tote bags.

- Detailed information about various India Post services to assist metro passengers.

- A special “My Stamp” counter, where citizens can create personalised stamps with their own photographs.

- India Post said that this partnership shows its commitment to taking postal services closer to the public by integrating them into busy and modern transport hubs.

"As part of the next phase, similar service desks and installations are planned for three more metro stations — BKC, SEEPZ and Cuffe Parade," the official statement said.
