The 'NaMo Yuva Run', a nationwide fitness initiative organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), was held in multiple cities across India on Sunday as part of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday.

In Mumbai, the run was flagged off at the Coastal Road Promenade in Worli by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and actor-fitness icon Milind Soman, with BJP MP and BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya also in attendance.

Milind Soman, speaking at the event, said, “I really like it when a run is organised and I try to participate in it. Today's run is on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday — happening in 75 cities in a single day. It is our and the Prime Minister's dream to make India drug-free, fit, and self-reliant.”

Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande said the initiative is being undertaken on behalf of Bharat Vikas to spread Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision among citizens, while also conveying the public’s patriotic sentiments back to him. He added that Bharat Parishad is similarly working to promote India’s customs, traditions, and cultural heritage.

According to the news agency ANI, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched the run and said the Prime Minister wished to celebrate his birthday in the spirit of service. “We are running various programs to ensure every citizen benefits from state welfare schemes. The message is one of de-addiction and transformation,” he said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the run in Lucknow, highlighting the importance of youth and health. He said, “The Seva Pakhwada will continue from PM Modi’s birthday to Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, focusing on health, blood donation, and youth involvement.”

Highlighting PM Modi's vision during the Amrit Mahotsav, Yogi Adityanath emphasised the importance of heritage, respect for the armed forces, and civic duties.

As per ANI, in Ahmedabad, former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel and Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel participated in the event. Parthiv lauded the initiative, calling it “essential for building a drug-free (‘Nasha Mukt’) India.” Minister Patel noted that 20,000–25,000 youth turned up in Ahmedabad alone, reflecting nationwide enthusiasm.

The 'NaMo Yuva Run' is a flagship BJYM campaign, announced on September 7, aimed at promoting fitness and raising awareness about drug de-addiction. The initiative includes 100 simultaneous runs across India, each with at least 10,000 young participants, making it one of the largest youth-driven fitness campaigns in the country.
