A leopard was reportedly sighted near Bhosala Military School on Gangapur Road in Nashik on Monday, prompting an immediate response from authorities. The Forest Department’s wildlife rescue unit, along with teams from RESQ Nashik Division and Gangapur Police Station, reached the spot to verify the sighting.
Officials have launched a search operation using a thermal drone, as dense grass and thick vegetation in the area are making ground surveillance difficult.
Following discussions with the school administration, the afternoon session has been cancelled as a precaution. Students from the morning shift are being safely escorted out of the campus in school buses, officials said.
