Nine government offices across Maharashtra have been recognised as top performers under the state’s 150-day e-governance reform programme, based on an assessment conducted by the Quality Council of India, an official said on Monday.
As per a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the awardees include the offices of the Jalgaon collector, Thane Rural Superintendent of Police, Panvel Municipal Corporation, Nashik Police Commissioner, Nagpur Divisional Commissioner and the Nanded Inspector General of Police, reported news agency PTI.
The best-performing government offices were selected under the state's 150-day e-governance reform programme, and the Quality Council of India carried out the evaluation, it stated.
According to PTI, offices were assessed on seven parameters, including their official websites, implementation of the Aaple Sarkar system, e-office usage, office dashboards, WhatsApp chatbots, and adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and GIS in government functioning.
The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra Maritime Board, and the Public Works Department were also selected for their outstanding performance.
The CMO said that the names of the best-performing Zilla Parishads will be released on February 8, and the state government will felicitate the winners.
CM Fadnavis announces '150-day action plan' with focus on e-governance, govt services
Earlier, in May 2025, Fadnavis announced a new 150-day action plan focusing on e-governance reforms and improving government services, an official statement said.
The announcement was made following a cabinet meeting held on May 6, 2025. CM Fadnavis said the detailed roadmap for the 150-day action plan would be shared on May 7, 2025.
“The new initiative follows the completion of the earlier 100-day administrative reform programme, which focused on policy and governance changes,” the statement said.
It added that more than 12,500 government offices across Maharashtra participated in the 100-day programme, including 48 departments at Mantralaya. Of the 902 identified policy matters, decisions were taken on 706 issues, leading to both policy-level and procedural reforms.
Encouraged by the positive response, the Chief Minister launched the new phase, which will continue until October 2, with the aim of improving government functioning and delivering better services to citizens.
CM Fadnavis explained that the 150-day plan will focus on three key areas: Developed Maharashtra, which includes setting long-term goals for 2029, 2035 and 2047; e-governance reforms, aimed at making government services more digital and efficient; and administrative service improvements, to ensure faster and better service delivery.
