The Cricket Club of India (CCI) at Churchgate, South Mumbai, is all set to name two of its guest/accommodation rooms after cricketers. One room will be named after former India wicketkeeper-batsman Farokh Engineer. The other room will be named after former India women’s cricket captain Diana Edulji.

CCI president Madhumati Lele confirmed the development and said, “The Executive Committee (EC) met recently, and this decision was taken. Details are being worked out, and a formal announcement will be made soon.”

Engineer is based in Manchester, England.

He was in India recently, where he celebrated his 88th birthday.

Edulji became the first Indian woman to be inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame in 2023.
