Parikshith Dalal (35), a Pune based software engineer, has, in his complaint alleged that the doctors not only 'killed' his wife and child but also tried to conceal critical facts.

On April 14, Dr P Ashok, Dr Indira Rao and Dr Inayatullah Shariff, the chief medical officer began operating on Dalal's wife Kapali.

Dalal filed a complaint with the Pulakshi Nagar police. His suspicions deepened when the postmortem report said that Kapali had died of serious fracture injuries in the spinal cord and ribs.

"I want the doctors to be booked for the death of my wife and stillborn child and for hiding facts," Dalal said.

Pulakeshi Nagar Inspector B Girish said they have sent the viscera to the FSL lab.

"We are waiting for the reports. Preliminary investigations reveal that the doctors' negligence led to Kapali's death. We will however collect corroborative evidence before taking legal action," he said.

Dr Inayatullah Shariff refused to speak on the phone when this reporter called up.
