Delhi Police Commissioner, BK Gupta, again relied on his most trusted wing, Crime Branch, to persuade Anna to not sit on hunger strike, before he was detained by police. On Tuesday, a team comprising DCP and additional DCP level officials visited Anna's residence in Mayur Vihar.

"The team, led by DCP (crime) Ashok Chand and including Additional DCP Sanjay Bhatia, MC Katoch and PS Kushwah, met Anna and Kejriwal on Tuesday morning," said police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat
